The City of Winter Garden is excited about the latest redevelopment of the existing 8.2-acre People’s Plaza Shopping Center located on West Colonial Drive. The new Garden Plaza facility will feature two buildings encompassing approximately 140,000 square feet of office and retail space and a third building which is expected to house a 90-room hotel. The project is being spearheaded by John Hussey, President of RealTrend, Inc.

“We are meeting a need with the community,” said Hussey, which currently has no Class A office space available or hotel space for the business traveler. The demand is high and Winter Garden is centrally located to take advantage of the demand with this type of product.”

Garden Plaza’s Mediterranean style is consistent with many of the architectural features found in Winter Garden. The cupolas are replicas of downtown’s gateway to the West Orange Trail and are fast becoming Winter Garden’s icon. Amenities will include a courtyard with a fountain and an outdoor conference center with wireless Internet access.
